On this page, you will find resources available in our community for specific needs. Please note that the agencies represented in this list are neither affiliated nor endorsed by the district. In addition, this list is not exhaustive. If you need a specific resource that is not listed, please contact Sam Leake, SHS School Social Worker. 


Students, if you need to talk with a counselor, you are welcome to reach out to Mrs. Leake, your guidance counselor, or Mrs. Rockrohr. 

  • Packs for Pals

    • Packs for Pals is a program that delivers a bag of snacks discreetly to students weekly. 

    • Packs for Pals is available to all SHS, SGS, Milton Pope, and MVK students

    • If you would like to sign your child up to receive a weekly bag of snacks, please contact Mrs. Leake, SHS Social Worker. sleake@senecahs.org or 815-357-5000.

We Care of Grundy County offers services ranging from Food, Clothing, One-time Rent/Mortgage Assistance, Utility assistance, and holiday Assistance.

  • National Domestic Violence Hotline - Call 1-800-799-7233

  • Call 4 Calm - Text “talk” or “Hablar” to 552020 for Illinois residents experiencing stress and mental health issues related to COVID-19. Call4Calm is free to use, and individuals will remain anonymous. Once a resident sends a text to the hotline, within 24 hours, they will receive a call from a counselor employed by a local community mental health center to provide support.

  • National Helpline | SAMHSA - Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services - Call 1-800-622-4357 (HELP). Free and confidential treatment referral and information service available 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

  • National Runaway Safeline - Call 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or text: 66008. This 24-hour 7 day a week national Safeline is for youth at risk of running away or already have and are looking for help.
