Seneca High School Update

Seneca High School Students and Parents,

On behalf of the entire Seneca High School Board of Education, Administration, Faculty, and Staff, I sincerely hope you and those you love are well.  More than a quarter of a year has elapsed since schools were closed by the Governor as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The conclusion of the 19-20 school year was certainly among the more challenging I have experienced in my educational career and clearly presented great challenges and difficulties for our students and their families.

As Illinois has moved into Phase 4 of Restore Illinois, the Illinois State Board of Education and the Illinois Department of Public Health have jointly released return to school guidance for Illinois schools.   This guidance requires that we prepare for multiple scenarios, including in-person, remote, and blended schooling.   We recognize the urgent need to provide our public with Seneca High School’s plans for the 20-21 school year.

At this time, the administration is reviewing the guidance document and other resources as we draft and refine our plan.  We are working in earnest and hope to communicate updates as soon as practically possible.  We appreciate your patience as we participate in this important work.   Until then, please stay safe and enjoy your summer.

Yours in education,

Dr. Jim Carlson
Superintendent
