Senior Sammie Greisen represented the Lady Irish Wrestling Team at the Dekalb Sectional on Friday and Saturday, finishing on top of the podium as the 125 LB SECTIONAL CHAMPION. Sammie will now advance to the IHSA Class 1A State Finals at Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington starting Friday, February 27th. GOOD LUCK, Sammie! #IrishPride ☘️

The Fighting Irish Wrestling Team competed at the Coal City Sectional on Friday and Saturday. The Irish finished the day with three podium placers:

Raiden Terry - SECTIONAL CHAMPION at 120
Chase Rod - 4th Place at 150
Landen Venecia - 2nd Place at 190

On Friday, Seneca High School honored our senior band, cheer, and boys basketball team members before the Fighting Irish DEFEATED the Lowpoint-Washburn Wildcats, 73-33. The Fighting Irish were led by Zeb Maxwell with 18 points and 11 rebounds, Brayden Simek with 15 points, and Brady Sheedy with 8 points and 7 rebounds. The team will next be in action at home on Tuesday against Morris.

The night's entertainment also featured musical performances by the SHS Band & Choir, as well as a Senior Night performance from the SHS Cheer Squad, choreographed by senior Shan Balandang. THANK YOU to all our senior band, cheer, and boys basketball team members for all your time and dedication to Seneca High School the past four years! #IrishPride ☘️

The Lady Irish Basketball Team traveled to Braidwood on Wednesday to wrap up their regular season, DEFEATING the Reed-Custer Comets by a final score of 52-42. The Lady Irish were led by Tessa Krull with 16 points, Emma Mino with 12 points, and Graysen Provance with 11 points. Elsa Douglas had 7 points and Kylee Rowley had 6 points to round out the scoring. The team will open up IHSA Class 2A Regional play on Monday at home against Wilmington at 7:30 PM. Great job, ladies! #IrishPride ☘️

Senior Pep Band, Cheer, and Boys Basketball Parents:

This Friday, February 13th, SHS will be honoring all senior pep band, cheer, and boys basketball players for Senior Night against Lowpoint-Washburn. This will take place immediately following the JV game. We ask that all parents and guardians be present in the gym at 6:15 PM in preparation for the ceremony. An announcement will be made near the end of the JV game with further instructions. Thanks and we look forward to seeing everyone come out to support our seniors on Friday! #IrishPride ☘️

For any junior or senior student who is interested in attending JJC after graduation, we highly recommend going to Discover JJC on Saturday, April 11th from 9:00 AM to noon. It is a great way to learn more about all the different programs that JJC has to offer as well as learning your way around the school. There will also be talks about cost, scholarship availability, and financial aid.

The SHS Scholastic Bowl Team faced off against Herscher at home on Tuesday night. Congratulations to Brady Fort for leading the JV Scholastic Bowl team with nine toss-ups and Ian Janke for leading the Varsity team with thirteen toss-ups as both teams split their matches! The team will be in action again at Lowpoint-Washburn next Tuesday. #IrishPride ☘️

Seneca High School's 18th Annual St. Baldrick's Fundraiser will take place on Friday, March 13th @ 2:00 PM in the Main Gym. Interested in a free haircut? Visit Mrs. Keinath in Room 122 to SIGN UP to be a shavee!

The SHS National Honor Society will be collecting pop tabs and household items from February 4th to March 20th. Collections will take place on Wednesday mornings and during Friday lunch periods. All collections will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House. Check out the flyer for more details!
