Due to the Bass Fishing Team's performance this weekend at their three tournaments, we are pleased to announce that the team is currently 2nd Place in the ICASSTT Northern Division and they broke into 10th Place overall in the ICASSTT State Standings. It has been a great fall season for our fishermen! #IrishPride ☘️

The Lady Irish Volleyball Team took the court for TCC action at Putnam County on Tuesday night, DEFEATING the Panthers in 2 sets, 25-16, 25-19! Graysen Provance dished out 14 assists and 9 kills, while Brooklyn Sheedy and Hayden Pfeifer each provided 5 kills at the net. The Lady Irish will return home on Thursday for their annual Volley for a Cure fundraiser against St. Bede. Way to go, ladies! #RollShrocks ☘️

The Lady Irish Volleyball Team picked up another solid VICTORY on Monday night in 2 sets at Wilmington, 25-22, 25-23! Graysen Provance recorded 21 assists and 6 kills, Brooklyn Sheedy tallied 9 kills, and Franki Meyers added another 7 kills. The Lady Irish return to TCC action TONIGHT at Putnam County at 7:00 PM. The Lady Irish Volleyball Team took 3rd Place at the Sterling Invite on Saturday! The Lady Irish went 3-1 on the day with wins against Newman Central Catholic, Rochelle, and Dekalb. The team's only loss came to Sterling in a close, 3-set battle. They will hit the road again TONIGHT to take on the Wilmington Wildcats at 6:00 PM. Good luck, ladies! #IrishPride ☘️

The Seneca Bass Fishing Team had a busy weekend. On Saturday, Lincoln Hebel placed 6th out of 23 at Shabbona Lake with 1 fish at 1.8 pounds, while Kolton Kennedy and Dallen Myers placed 8th with one fish at 1.0 pounds at the same tournament. Also on Saturday, Max Mancuso placed 30th out of 40 at Kinkaid Lake with 2 fish at 2 pounds. Sunday brought challenges for Addison Mann and Landon Hebel at Lake of Egypt. They placed 38th out of 65 boats with 4 fish and 4.1 pounds. Although this was the end of the fall season, we are already getting ready for the start of spring. Great job guys! #IrishPride ☘️

ECE Senior Spotlight 🏫

Meet Ms. Emma Mino! Emma is in Mrs. Read's ECE class. After graduation, she plans to attend college to major in Elementary Education and continue her softball career.

"Emma is truly a natural-born educator and one of the most hard-working, dedicated students you could ever hope to meet. Not only do I love watching her teach the littles in the classroom but seeing her lead her teammates on the court or field is truly inspiring. Sophomore Talia Jenkins has been named SHS Athlete of the Week! Talia was selected to the TCC All-Conference Team after finishing in 4th Place and leading the Lady Irish to a TCC Championship on Tuesday. She then finished as the All-County Champion at the LaSalle County Championship XC Meet on Saturday. Congratulations, Talia, and best of luck the rest of the season! #IrishPride ☘️

Today is World Teachers' Day! World Teachers’ Day was established by UNESCO in 1994 and is held annually on October 5th to celebrate all teachers around the globe. Teachers are noticing when a student needs a little extra encouragement, staying late to help someone finally understand, celebrating the small wins, adapting on the fly, and doing a thousand little things each day that their students may remember for years.

The Fighting Irish Cross Country Team competed at the LaSalle County Championship XC Meet on Saturday morning. The Lady Irish took home 2nd Place overall and the Fighting Irish placed 3rd. The Seneca Bass Fishing Team is currently competing in the Coaches and Student State Tournament Trail, or CASSTT. This is a series of tournaments held for high school students across all of Illinois. After this past weekend at Clinton Lake, Seneca Fishing is ranked 3rd in the Northern Division (3 divisions), and 11th overall in the State of Illinois. We also have three teams (6 students) ranked on the Northern Division All Stars list, and 3 teams in the chase for the Clash Championship. The coaches would like to thank all the volunteer captains and parents that put up with early mornings, and long days that allow our fisherman to compete. Hopefully we make up some points on the competition this weekend at Kinkaid Lake, Lake of Egypt, and Shabbona Lake! #IrishPride ☘️
