On Thursday, the three SSTs with the most donations from this year's Thanksgiving Basket Program enjoyed a pizza party in the Irish Cove during lunch, sponsored by RISE. Congratulations to Mrs. Liberatore, Mrs. Read, and Mrs. Neurohr's classes for being our top 3 contributing SSTs and thank you to all students and staff that contributed to this year's program! #TheSenecaWay ☘️

On Monday, our Student Ambassadors met with the freshmen to check in on their first semester and to offer guidance as they prepare for final exams. Final exam exemption forms were shared with each class Thursday morning. Students have until tomorrow, December 12th, at 3:00 PM to complete and submit their exemption requests. Final exams will take place on December 17, 18, and 19. The full exam schedule can be found below. #TheSenecaWay ☘️

This semester, Mrs. Read's culinary students focused on mastering the basics, including everything from proper kitchen safety and knife skills to measuring, mixing, and understanding simple recipes. They’ve grown more confident and capable with each lesson, and they wrapped up the semester on a high note by making delicious homemade pizzas from scratch. It was the perfect way to showcase their skills, creativity, and hard work! #TheSenecaWay ☘️

On Tuesday, Mrs. Applebee took 25 students from her Holocaust classes up to Chicago to visit the Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center at their satellite location downtown. Students experienced a VR survivor story, talked to a hologram of a survivor, and also listened in person to a survivor's story.

Alise will travel to Peoria in late January for rehearsals and will perform in the Peoria Civic Center Arena on January 31. Meet Ms. Ava Sulzberger! Ava is in Mrs. Read's ECE class. After graduation, she plans to attend a four year university and obtain her Bachelor of Nursing degree. Her long term goal is to gain ICU experience and advance her degree to a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. "The influence of a good teacher can never be erased."

"Ava has been a quiet leader in my classroom for 4 years. Her genuine kindness, friendly smile and willingness to always help is something that is refreshing and shows her impeccable character. Congratulations to the November 2025 Students of the Month.
The Seneca Speech team started their season at Morris this weekend where they placed in five different events: Congrats to Titus Bogart who placed 6th in Radio Speaking at his very first competition. Maddy DeGrush also took 6th place in Humorous Interp. Lilly Pfeifer and Maddy DeGrush won 4th place with their Dramatic Duet, and Lilly Pfeifer also was 4th in Prose Reading. In Original Oratory, both SHS speakers placed: Talia Jenkins was 5th at her very first meet, and Ellenore Tallarico took 2nd place with her speech! Congratulations to all our speakers on a very strong start at a competitive first meet! This upcoming weekend, SHS hosts their own Irish Invitational Speech Meet, starting at 8:30 AM. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s all about, this would be a perfect opportunity to come see what they can do! #IrishPride ☘️
