On Thursday, March 5th, CTE students toured the McCarthy Construction Buffalo Solar Site. During their visit, students learned about jobsite safety, task documentation, prefabrication efficiency, and were able to tour the construction site to see the various stages of solar panel installation. Meet Ms. MaryLou Acosta! MaryLou is in Mrs. Read's ECE class. After graduation, she plans to attend cosmetology school with the hopes of one day becoming a cosmetologist. "The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you."

The Seneca High School Chapter of the National Honor Society invites you to their annual NHS Induction Ceremony on Tuesday, March 17th, 2026 at 7:00 PM. The ceremony will take place in the SHS Auditorium and there will be refreshments to follow. On Sunday, April 12th, from 8:00-11:30 AM, the SHS Irish IMPACT Team will host a donation-based Pancake Breakfast on behalf of Pack for Pals at Seneca High School. Packs for Pals originated in 2012 and organizers meet once weekly to pack 6-7 non-perishable items for SHS students and our feeder schools. The organization has already packed 2000 packs this year and this breakfast will help raise funds for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. Please come and enjoy pancakes and biscuits & gravy on the 12th to support a great cause! 🥞
Over the weekend, Addison Mann, Tommy Watkins, and Wyatt Holman competed with Parkview Christian in a 200 round trap shooting tournament at the Diamond Indoor Tournament. The team competed against 9 other schools and they came in 2nd Place with a High Overall Squad score that included Addison, Tommy, and Wyatt. Addison also placed 3rd overall as High Overall Female. Congratulations to our three competitors! It's always great to hear about the interests our students have outside of the halls of SHS! #IrishPride ☘️
TOMORROW, Seneca High School and Jonelle Carter are proud to host GLOW Girl from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM. This high-energy, purpose-filled day is designed to help young women build confidence, explore career pathways, and sharpen leadership skills. We are thrilled to welcome over 160 students and staff from area high schools into the Land of the Irish!
After Jonelle's inspiring keynote address, we will welcome and hear invaluable insights from our three breakout speakers from 10:15-11:30 AM:
Sara Olson is a Regional Success Coach at Great Minds and she will lead a vital conversation on the power of women supporting women in the Media Center.
Karie Stecken is the Nursing Manager at Morris Hospital and she will provide her perspective on navigating the journey of career & family balance in the Old Gym.
Lyda Widmayer is an Administrative Assistant at Peotone High School and she will share her inspiring take on developing resilience & grit in the Auditorium.

On Tuesday, Jessa Echeverria, Brant Roe, and Brady Sheedy represented Seneca High School at State Senator Sue Rezin's Youth Advisory Council in Springfield. They heard from Senator Rezin in the Senate chamber before visiting the House chamber, listened to two guest speakers, and engaged in a mock committee hearing on a bill that was recently introduced to the Illinois Senate. Jessa represented a citizen in support of the bill while Brant and Brady played the role of Senators. They did a great job representing Seneca High School and even found time to participate in a photo challenge between all of these great events! #TheSenecaWay ☘️
Seneca High School is proud to present our 2026 Prom Night: A Night in Bloom! Join us for an unforgettable evening of dinner and dancing on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Jennifer's Garden in Morris. The dance will take place from 5:30-10:30 PM with transportation provided from Seneca High School.
Dance tickets are $75 for a single and $150 for a couple. Tickets can be purchased in the SHS Main Office between March 16-27th. If you plan on bringing an out-of-district guest, visit the attached link to fill out an outside guest form. The SHS Scholastic Bowl team competed in the Tri-County Conference tournament over the weekend, going 4-3 and placing fourth. Ian Janke was named All-Conference and had more toss-ups than anyone else in the tournament. The Varsity team finished the regular season with a record of 21-16. They will compete at home in regional competition on Monday! #IrishPride ☘️

On Friday, Seneca High School hosted our annual College Fair, where we had 32 different college, trade, and military representatives here to meet with students and hand out information about their programs. It was a great opportunity for students to see some of their options if they plan to pursue postsecondary education. We are so thankful for these representatives taking time to come out and meet with our students to help them plan for life after high school! #TheSenecaWay ☘️
