Evaluation Framework

To determine when the action item is completed, Table 1 depicts the evaluation framework. Most items have an approximate completion date, however some items reflect ongoing processes where formative information will be continually collected, evaluated and acted upon. As this is a living process, we intend to work with everyone involved to help this venture be as successful as possible for all participants. The objective is student success, but that is only achieved through the community efforts of the entire system; student, parents, community, staff, administration, and school board. The old adage of it takes a village will be evident in many aspects of this project. Since these are tasks performed by individuals or committees, the completion of the task is the evaluation method. The presentation of the completed task to others and the evidence and successive actions performed as a result of previous tasks related to both formative and summative assessments. The formative or ongoing assessment of where we are in the process and constant adjustments of actions to maintain a final completion date of 8/31/2013 will help us reach our goal. Even then, we will be constantly evaluating our processes and adjusting how we do things as the next school year ensues. This first year will be our initial implementation. We are trying to plan for as much as possible, but know there will be much to learn ourselves on how to improve. As much as this process is aimed and student success; the students will not be the only ones learning from this project.

To help us determine the effectiveness of this project, we are developing a mechanism to monitor the success of every student. Included here is a sample of what we will be monitoring. As one can see, this calls for monitoring the students, grades, attendance, standardized testing, after school plans, and career interests. Our desire is to help the student achieve their goals. We will be especially interested in the changes after implementation of the 1:1 project.
