2013 Summer Implementation Timeline
- Order/Build Phase(teacher phase depends on time ordered):
- Teachers will need to turn in their laptops ASAP
- Receive laptops on June 1st(tentative)
- Laptops storage will be old main lab (locks will be changed for IT staff access only)
- Work room will be old cyber lab
- Unpack laptops to be imaged(see set of software on each image)
- Teacher Laptops first
- Image 40 at a time.
- Should take around 2-3(tentative) weeks
- Label each laptop with students name or ID
- Bag it and give bag a tag for each student name(use student ID card)
- Set up tables in old math lab and use that for post laptop storage(also rekeyed)
- Teacher Deployment stage:
- Try to get the new devices to the teachers before they go home for summer break
- Give teachers some time to get their information off of the older devices.
- Training Days for the summer - Offer 4 training days throughout the summer for teacher technology training
- Device troubleshooting(able to help students with simple problems)
- Windows 8
- New features on Blackboard
- Office 2013

Parent/Student Outline of Issuing Laptops Meetings
Mail all documents to parents in a separate mailing so they can come to the meeting with the documents already signed. The meetings will be a review of the legal and financial information. The students will also have instruction on the device.

- Wednesday Watts meeting will be dedicated to SIP or Professional Development.
Preliminary Summer Student Deployment Agenda and Notes, 2013
- Helen and Marty will lead.
- Volunteer Teachers, student lab aides, and staff to assist with this.
- Two training areas: Media Center and Business Classroom (Room 111).
- Students will choose from 3 days to sign up to pick up their laptops
- Dates of Deployment: Aug12-14th
- Recommended that Parents come with students, but they can send signed documents.
- Time breakdown:
- First 30 minutes assign laptops
- Next 1.5 hours:
- Sign/go over policy/papers/procedures
- Tip sheet for Windows 8
- Go over optional parent paid insurance
- Do and don’ts (in school rules) with laptops (expectations)
- Learn laptops features(more detailed on a separate document)
- Log in
- Set up email – how to send email
- Learn Windows 8, differences of it and 7 and how to navigate through it
- Blackboard refresher (freshmen first time)
- Office 2013 basics
- Cloud services: Microsoft SkyDrive, Google Cloud drive, and Dropbox
