Goals and Objectives

Looking back at the gap analysis table, one can determine that the focus of this project is to implement a 1:1 initiative where each student is issued a laptop device for student learning. The main goal of this program is student success. Issuing the devices is a means of improving achieving the student success goal. The objective would then be to implement technology for students and teachers to prepare students for their futures after high school. The pursuit of student success will take many perspectives and steps. Professional development may look like it is for the teachers, but it is really for both teachers and students. The students win when their teachers have the proper tools to relate to the students. Quillen outlines the U. S. action plan for technology in the year 2020 where “The idea is to improve teaching, assessment, learning, and educational infrastructure through Web 2.0 technologies (Quillen, 2010, p.10). Our version of vodcasts will be very similar to this goal of teaching the teachers to use web 2.0 skills in their Blackboard Learn classes. Our vision has us as leaders in the areas of student success, technology integration, and life preparation. The exposure to technology and the caliber of teaching staff at Seneca High School will greatly improve the student’s chances for success. Seneca is already a school to be proud of. Our mission is to uphold that great reputation and continue it on for the future.
