Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month
September is Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month
Talking to a friend about their mental health can be intimidating, but it can save a life. Just starting a conversation, even if it feels awkward, can make a real difference. Here are FIVE ways to start a conversation.
- “Hey, we haven’t talked in a while. How are you?”
- “Are you okay? You don’t seem like yourself lately.”
- “Hey, you seem frustrated today, I’m here for you.”
- “Seems like something’s up, do you want to talk about what’s going on?”
- “I’m worried about you and would like to know what’s up so I can help.”
Know that not everyone whose suffering with their mental health will show signs. Check on ALL of your friends.
