Student Run Help Desk
Under the guidance and tutelage of the technology department, students will be selected to work, answer to, job duties, responsibilities, location, equipment, supervision, qualifications, graded. Students will learn the basics of computer hardware and software while getting real world experience in computer maintenance. This will be treated as a regular class. Students will register for it and will be approved by both guidance and the technology department. The goal is to have 1 or 2 students each hour. Currently, we are planning on centrally locating these students in the Media Center under the direct supervision of Sherry Neiman. Technology direction will still come from the tech department, but this will allow for consistent adult supervision. In addition, we would like to have the help desk at the office end of the commons during lunch. This area would also serve as a place for student s to charge the devices or do homework away from the food tables.
