Seneca Lady Irish Softball

2010 Season Information:
The Lady Irish lost the Regional Championship to St. Bede today 6-3. The Lady Irish finish the season at 24-13.
On Wednesday, Freshman Nicole Pihl faced the minimum, 21 batters, as the Lady Irish defeated Hall 7-0. Nicole recorded the perfect game with the help of some great defense and timely hitting. For a full recap of the game, click here: http://www.mywebtimes.com/archives/ottawa/display.php?id=404687

The JV softball team wrapped up its season at 6-15.
In the Marquette game both pitchers were dominant. In a 1-1 tie in the 5th inning, Taelor Coughlin led the inning off by lacing a double to right center. After working around a couple of walks, Marquette's pitcher faced Madi Shanks with two outs and the bases loaded. Shanks coaxed a walk before Nicole Pihl stepped up to rip a 2 out 2 run single to center field. Miranda Hougas added a 2 run RBI single to get the lead to 6-1.
On Saturday April 24th, Seneca will be hosting a tournament with Mendota, Somonauk, and St. Bede to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. Congrats to Jaclyn Andreatta who was the top lifter in the 2010 Lift A Thon this Saturday. Jaclyn benched 145 pounds and squated 275! Nicole Pihl also tied her in the squat. Every girl improved their maxes after completing this season's Tough Enough II- great job girls!
