Family Reading Night was a Success!
This past Tuesday, March 7th, SHS Early Childhood students, Mrs. Read, along with MVK Principal Mrs. Melanie Elias, organized and hosted a Family Reading Night “Camp-In” for MVK Elementary School. This event was a success with over 80 students in attendance! Mrs. Read had 20 sophomore, junior and senior students at the event who were the main contributors on the fun night! The high school students held activities in throughout the school, Story-time was the focus, and the other activities really added to the event. The students played games, made a campfire craft, worked on a writing activity and made indoor s’mores. Prize baskets donated by SHS FCCLA also were raffled off to students and parents. A big hit of the night was a Bring a Book-Take a Book Table. The students were excited to drop off a book they had already read from home and take something new home. The high school students were thankful to be asked to help, enjoyed running the activities, and can’t wait until next year!
