Start of School / Freshmen and New Student Orientation
Dear Freshmen, New Students, and Parents,
I am excited to share with you the schedule we will be using for our freshmen and new students for the 2022-2023 school year. Both days are mandatory attendance for all incoming Freshman. We highly recommend that all transfer students attend on Tuesday, August 16th. We are hopeful by providing the day and half orientation that our incoming 9th graders and transfer students have a seamless transition to SHS. The specific agenda for both days is outlined below.
Student success sits atop as one of our many goals at SHS. It is imperative for the administration and staff to create as many opportunities for students to be successful. One measure we can take in this process is developing and fostering a sincere, professional and meaningful relationship with students who are new to our building. The start of a high school student’s 9th grade year is crucial and can often impact future high school success.
Because of this important transition period, the staff of Seneca High School has constructed a new program for all incoming freshmen. Beginning Monday, August 15th, Seneca Township High School will require only freshmen students to attend school. These dates are mandatory student attendance days for the Class of 2026 and will kick-off the start to their 2022-2023 school year. However, new students are also invited to join orientation on Tuesday, August 16th.
Bus transportation will be provided on both of these dates.
During this day of attendance, all freshmen students and staff will be participating in a variety of relationship building activities. The specific agenda is outlined below.
