SHS Alumni Co-ed Softball Tournament

Benefiting a Great Cause--Zoey Coughlin

On Sunday, May 24, 2015, out on the SHS softball diamond we will be holding an SHS alumni/staff co-ed slow-pitch softball tournament.  We’d love to have as many teams as possible with a time limited-games tournament.  We will be using 14 inch softballs and all teams will be co-ed.  The tournament will be benefiting a great cause.  Zoey Coughlin is the daughter of Keri Coughlin, an SHS graduate many of you probably had in class.  Zoey is 16 months old and was recently diagnosed with stage 3 neuroblastoma, sadly requiring a great deal of medical treatment including chemotherapy and surgeries.  The tournament will cost $5 per player with all proceeds going to help Zoey’s family in this fight.

The Lady Irish softball team will run the concession stand that day and proceeds from that will also help benefit little Zoey.  Anything we can do to help the Coughlin family, while also catching up with our alumni should be a great day of fun.  Please send an email to Coach Stecken at dstecken@senecahs.org to confirm your team in the one-day tournament.  Any spouse or significant other of an SHS alumni is welcome to play.  The Coughlin family will also be selling “Let it Go for Zoey” bracelets and tee-shirts at the tournament that day.  It would be great if we could create a faculty co-ed team to play that day or if some teachers were able to get former SHS kids to create a team and the teacher could “coach.”  I know it is during Memorial Day weekend but that was the only day that really seemed to work for this.  Please let me know if you are able to play.

Thank you,

Dan Stecken
