Newark 1 (Soph) Comments

GAME #1: (W) SENECA 33 Newark 18
We got off to a good start in the tournament with a win over Newark. We showed good patience against their primarily zone defense and were able to gradually build a double digit lead. What I was most pleased with though was our defensive effort. Holding a team to 18 points takes 4 good quarters of playing hard on the defensive end of the floor and I thought we set a good tone for the tournament with that effort. Peyton Schrag led us with 19 points, including 10-12 from the free throw line.
