Mr. Russell Witte is originally from West Salem, Illinois. Mr. Witte has been teaching mathematics now for ten years. Five of those years were spent out in Montana, where he taught grades 7-12 in Harlowton for one year and 7th grade in Hamilton for four years. He moved back to Illinois to take a high school teaching job in Spring Valley at Hall High School. There he taught Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and Pre-Calculus. Mr. Witte teaches Geometry and Algebra II here at Seneca High School.
Before his teaching career began, Mr. Witte attended Greenville College in Greenville, IL. There he obtained his B.S. in Secondary Mathematics Education. He also was a member of the Greenville College Panthers basketball team.
Coaching sports is a big priority in Mr. Witte's life. He has been an assistant boys' and girls' basketball coach at Harlowton and Hamilton High Schools before taking over the reigns as head boys' basketball coach at Hamilton High School. He was also head boys' basketball coach at Hall High School. The past two years Mr. Witte has been the assistant men's basketball coach at Illinois Valley Community College.
Along with coaching basketball, Mr. Witte has 8 years experience as boys' and girls' golf coach and has spent the last two seasons as an assistant football coach and defensive coordinator of the freshman football team here at Seneca High School.
Mr. Witte got married this past summer to his wife Kristie who teaches moderate to severe mental disabilities at LaSalle-Peru High School and coaches special olympic at L-P and Minooka High Schools
