Education: Ms. Olson is a 1998 graduate of Seneca High School. She went to Monmouth College and earned a bachelor's degree in English and certification to teach Communication and middle school.
Experience: Ms. Olson taught one year of middle school in Kewanee, IL, at Visitation Catholic School. There, she taught English, Pre-Algebra, Life Science, and Earth Science. She is in her third year at SHS and much happier to be teaching only classes in her content area!
Courses Taught: Ms. Olson teaches English IV, two sections of Public Speaking, and one section of Applied Communication. She's taught three years of summer school Public Speaking and one section of English II.
SHS Activities:Ms. Olson is an advisor for both TRUST and Drama Club. She is the assistant speech team coach and is the director for plays and acting director for musicals. She is also a member of the School Improvement Plan Team.
Personal Information:Ms. Olson grew up in Mazon and currently resides in Dwight. She is currently working on a Master's degree in Interdisciplinary Instruction from National Louis University, and her future plans include earning a Master's in English and winning the lottery.
