Dutch Elm Disease Resistant

Liz Peterson of The Seneca FFA as announced that the American Liberty Elm Trees that she has been raising are ready for sale and distribution. Liberty Elms are special in that the are resistant to the Dutch Elm Disease that has tragically wiping out our current Elm population. The program is part of Miss Peterson’s FFA project is in being conducted in partnership with the Seneca FFA and the Elm Research Institute.
The trees are approximately seven feet tall and are ready to plant. The Seneca FFA has been working with this program for 6 years and of the hundred trees in the community, none have been reported to have died. Anyone interested in purchasing a tree for themselves, or to be donated to a park is asked to contact Elizabeth Peterson or the Seneca FFA at 357-5024. The trees cost $100.00 and can be delivered and planted for you upon request.
